Romania pays after Microsoft solo bid

It follows a tendering process where a consortium of D-Con.Net AG, D-Con.Net GmbH, Comsoft Direct AG, Bechtle Holding Schweiz AG and Microsoft Dim Soft SRL Romania was the only bidder.
Some thirty public institutions are covered, including the Interior, Justice, Finance, Defense, Health and Agriculture ministries. In total, some 163,427 licences are in use in in about 30 public institutions.
It follows a previous deal when in 2004, the Government signed a contract with Microsoft for a period of five years. In 2009, payments to Microsoft totalled $57.86m (€42.5m).
